The Doll People-A Book Review

6 Aug

The Doll People is about a doll named Annabelle owned by a little girl named Kate. Annabelle lived with her family; a Mom, a Dad, an Aunt, an Uncle, a Nanny, and her baby sister, and little brother. Until Auntie Sarah disappeared. Life was very boring for Annabelle doll. She was a hundred years old and still eight. You see she and her family were first a gift for a little girl named Gertrude, then for Kathrine, then Annie, and finally Kate. She could never left the doll house where she lived even if she wanted to. But that all changed when the Funcrafts moved in. The Funcrafts were a birthday present for Kate’s little sister Nora. When Annabelle met the Funcrafts she saw how much the same their two families were. The Funcrafts had a little girl named Tiffany who could play with Annabelle. They had a little boy named Bailey who could play with Annabelle’s little brother Bobby, and they had a baby named Brittney to play with baby Betsy.  Annabelle also saw how different they were. The Funcrafts were glad to have an adventure! But, Annabelle’s family…not so much. But you don’t know what will happen with those dolls around!

My Thoughts: I am a big fan of Ann M. Martin, and fiction stories so this book was a perfect read for me! Annabelle’s character was not as interesting at first, but as she became friends with Tiffany her character grew! I found the whole idea of a little doll world silly, and full of fun! Also, the whole description of the story was really well-written, and full of details!  I can’t wait to see what will happen next to these dolls! I give this story four out of five stars:)
