The Runaway Dolls- a Book Review

15 Aug

The Runaway Dolls, ( The third book in The Doll People series) was wonderful and had me sad at the end when the series ended. Here is a book review.

The Doll family (which included Annabelle, Papa, Mama, Bobby, Uncle doll, Nanny, Auntie Sarah, and Baby Betsy) and the Funcraft family (which included Tiffany, Bailey, Mom, Dad, and Baby Brittney) were delighted to find that the owners (the Palmers) of the Dolls and Funcrafts would be gone which would mean the doll families would have two weeks of freedom. Tiffany and Annabelle were exploring when they found a box on the Palmer’s living room table.

Before I go on I should explain a little.

When the Doll Family arrived from a toy shop it was many, many, many years ago. (By now they had been played with by a lot of little girls in the Palmer’s family.) Anyways the Doll family had everyone that was supposed to be there except the baby. Baby Betsy was from a different toy set. Betsy was bigger then anyone in the family. The family that had first had the Dolls decided to keep Baby Betsy.

So anyways Annabelle and Tiffany ( The Funcrafts were made much later in a factory) decided to explore the box. Annabelle saw that the box was from the same address as the toy shop. They discovered that in the box was Annabelle’s long lost baby sister. Annabelle and Tiffany were outraged when Annabelle’s parents said not to open the box and the girls ran away with Annabelle’s sister, Tilly May. They made it all the way to the park when Tilly May wandered off. Tiffany and Annabelle were saved when Bobby and Bailey, the girls brothers were spying on them and found Tilly May. The five walked farther from home and found themselves in a department store in the toy section. Luckily the five dolls made their way home. The dolls were able to get Tilly May back into the box and when the Palmers came home they decided to keep her. Now Tilly May and Baby Betsy had a home in the doll house.

I loved this book. But out of all three in the series I liked this one the least. I thought it was wonderful though. A great book. My favorite part was when Tiffany, Tilly, Annabelle, Bobby, and Bailey were stuck in the toy store.
