French Toast

27 Oct

Here is a recipe from the American Girl Mix It Up cookbook for french toast. (Which is French Toast, but the book gives ways to add fun foods to it)

Step 1

Using a pie pan beat 2 eggs, 1/4 cup of milk, 1 teaspoon sugar, 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla, and 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon until well blended.

Step 2

Pour 1 teaspoon of oil into a skillet and heat on medium. Dip two slices of bread into the egg mixture and pour into the skillet.

Step 3

Cook the bread until it is a brown gold color, then flip the bled over using a spatula, and cook the other side.

Ways to make your toast fun

Add peanut butter and jelly and make a sandwich: Spread the peanut butter and jelly on one piece of bread and top it with the other piece, then dip sandwich in french toast egg mixture, and cook it with the recipe above.

Make a cold cheese and ham sandwich: Make a regular cheese and ham sandwich then, dip it in the french toast egg mixture and cook it like you do for the peanut buttter and jelly sandwich.

Add chocolate chips Like the name says, add chocolate chips! Make the toast using the recipe above, then press chocolate chips into it. Adding powdered sugar makes this taste even more yummy.

Francais toast In a small bowl, mix 2 tablespoons of softened cream cheese and 1 tablespoon of orange marmalade, set it aside. Using 2 slices of french bread, make french toast. Then spred the cheese mixture on the toast and sprinkle on powdered sugar.

    Hi Lulu!
I LOVE french toast! I think adding a bit of powdered sugar and a few strawberries make it even better. Too bad I haven’t had the time to make it :(
