Frenemies-A Movie Review

25 Mar

Frenemies Part 1: Meet Jake: the geeky president of the science club, best friends with his faithful dog Murray, and future NASA scientist. That is, until Julianne showed up. The most pretty, popular, and mean girl in school, she has plans for Jake’s intelligence, but Murray has a few things to say about it too. Can the faithful pup expose the mean girl’s scheme?

Part 2: Hallie and Avalon have always been best friends. Together they enjoyed writing their online magazine, “Geekly Chic” well, except for the fact that no one reads it but Hallie, Avalon, and Hallie’s mother. But after Hallie writes an e-mail to an important company they get an offer to publish Geekly Chic! It seems like a dream, but there’s one problem: only one job is available. Can their friendship survive the business world?

Part 3: Meet Savanna, skateboarding, artsy, jock who has a crush on Jake. And meet Emma, british, rich, and sweet. From two opposite worlds, they just happen to meet at the mall. They then see that they look exactly the same (Duh, it’s the same actress.) So that’s when Savanna and Emma switch places for a week. Savanna fakes an accent, lives in a mansion, goes to balls, and has snails for dinner. Meanwhile, Emma has four brothers a skateboard, even though she can’t ride one, and Jake. Will the girls be able to live through the unfamiliar?

My Thoughts: I loved Bella and Zendaya’s sudden entrances. I think the movie would have been more interesting if it was not split up into three parts. I did love Stephine Scott, Bella, and Zendaya’s acting. But I had never seen the people who played Jake, and Emma/Savanna. I do think that the Savanna/Emma actress sounded young. Overall it was a fun movie and I give it 3 and a half stars, (I’m pretty sure it’s my first.)

Fabulous review! I too think it would have been better if it wasn’t split into three parts. Sometimes, though, it’s okay to cast lesser know actors. They need to branch out too.
    Their sudden entrances were hilarious!

Nobody knew Hallie and Avalon even existed, and that’s what made it funny!
