Frozen-A Movie Review

1 Dec

Frozen Cast:

Kristen Bell as Anna

Idina Menzel as Elsa

Jonathan Groff as Kristoff

Josh Gad as Olaf

Santino Fontana as Hans

Summary: At a young age, Princess Elsa discovered she had magical powers that could create snow and ice, but when an accident involving her magic causes her sister Anna to have to forget all memories of magic, Elsa becomes determined to hide her powers from everyone, including her sister. Several years later, Elsa flees to the mountains after accidentally using her magic on her coronation day and revealing it to the town. Anna soon goes after her sister, encountering a brave ice seller Kristoff and his reindeer, Sven, and an enchanted snowman named Olaf, who dreams of what life would be like in summer. Together the four go on a dangerous journey to find Elsa and hopefully stop the endless winter she accidentally caused…

My Thoughts: When I first saw the preview for this movie in the summer, I wanted to see it so badly! Luckily, every year we go to the movies on Thanksgiving, and this year we saw Frozen. I have to say I loved it:) The story, The Snow Queen was adapted into the movie really well, and I liked that although the movie still has some of the original fairy tale’s details in it, it’s still its own story. Continuing, the graphics of the movie were simply amazing, and the different settings looked extremely realistic, but still whimsical. The ice and snow magic that Elsa did looked so beautiful, and I also loved the song she sung (it was called Let It Go,) during the ice palace part. (It was my favorite song in the whole movie.) Speaking of the songs, they were really good, and it was kind of fun to have a Disney movie with Broadway-Style songs, since they haven’t had one in a while. (The last one I remember is Tangled, which is another really great movie.) Some of my other favorite songs in the movie were ‘Love Is an Open Door’ and ‘In Summer’, but I also enjoyed ‘For the First Time In Forever.’

Moving on to the characters, I have to start with my favorite one in the whole movie…Olaf the snowman! He has to be one of my favorite animated movie side kicks because he is just so funny, sweet, and of course…awesome! Even better, he sings ‘In Summer’, which is super silly, but totally cool:) Anyways, another one of my favorite characters would have to be Elsa because not only does she sing my favorite song in the movie, but she also has awesome hair and is voiced by Idina Menzel, who rocks:) The other main character, Anna was also great, (mostly every character was awesome…) and, I really liked her because she was funny and awkward, but she was also really kind and likable. Finally, Kristoff and Sven the reindeer were simply super fun and silly:) Overall, Frozen was a wonderful movie that I would definitely see again, and I give five out of five stars.

Alex Vs. Alex, The Wizards Return-A TV Show Episode Review

21 Mar

Selena Gomez as Alex

Jake T. Austin as Max

Jennifer Stone as Harper

Gregg Sulkin as Mason

David Deluise as Jerry

Maria Canals Barrera as Theresa

Beau Mirchoff as Dominic

After Alex Russo became the family wizard, she thought everything would go on smoothly…not so much. Her family keeps trying to pressure her to be more mature and grow up after the endless mischief caused by her magic. So before a family reunion in Italy, Alex decides to use magic to separate the good and bad parts of herself, and ends up creating a Good Alex and a Bad Alex. Soon, she is caught up in an evil young wizard’s scheme to rule the whole world, and to destroy all mortals. Alex must save her friends and family, along with the rest of the world, all atop the Leaning Tower of Pisa, while facing herself!

My Thoughts: Wizards of Waverly Place was by far my favorite Disney show! I was so sad when it ended, but I eagerly awaited this hour-long special! The plot definitely reminded me of the episode in the Wizards of Waverly Place TV series, “Positive Alex.” This awesome episode is full of stunts and lots of special effects. The magic in this is very different from the bright spark of colors in the actual TV series, but was very well done with the slow movement of the colors all blended together. The big battle scene between the two Alexs (I don’t really know how to make her name plural!) was outstanding, and I thought it was funny how every time Alex defeated herself, her bad side would just come back! It was complete with a big shock, (but I’m not going to tell you what it is!) that is sure to surprise you, (don’t worry, it all works out:)) Also, the Villa in Italy’s set was also very well-designed:) The costumes in this were just as cool as in the TV show! Harper’s outfits are always very outrageous and silly, but make her character fun! Bad Alex’s “taking over the world outfit” reminded me of some of the classic Disney villains rolled into one, with a twist. I do think though, that it could have been more of a movie’s-length than just one hour. Moving on to the exceptional acting… Selena Gomez played her fun, full of jokes character Alex, who always can seem to make you laugh. Alex was just as likable in the special, and her magical mishaps are just as funny! David DeLuise and Maria Canals-Barrera have so many short jokes, but are always full of laughter! Jennifer Stone also did a great job as Harper, who’s always funny. There was a great cast, and I give this special three and a half stars out of five!

Lulu’s Entertainment-Filled Love List!

Alex Vs. Alex, The Wizards Return! Okay, so Wizards of Waverly Place was one of the best Disney shows, and I was so sad when it ended! When I heard that the cast was coming back together to make a special hour-long movie, I was super excited, and have now been waiting for a while to see it! It premieres tonight, are you going to be watching it?

This Adorable Mickey Mouse Video!!  Minnie and Mickey are pretty awesome, and this short is so cute:) Minnie runs out of croissants for her adorable cafe, so she looks to Mickey for help, and he has to rush through the busy streets to get the bread to her:) The drawings are playful, and the scenery is beautiful! I definitely recommend watching it:)

Wordgirl March Enemy Week, is a really good (it has won awards!) show, and this week was called March Enemy Week, (get the play on words?) I watched some this week and really enjoyed it!

My Summer of Pink and Green Lisa Greenwald is a really amazing author, and I loved her book, My Life in Pink and Green. I have been waiting and waiting for this to come out, and it will be soon! (March 19th) I also really like the cover design, how about you?

TV Spots From Oz The Great And Powerful Celebrate New Year’s Eve on http://www.shockya.com/news

Oz the Great and Powerful The whole Wizard of Oz story is so mystical and whimsical, but the Wizard’s story hasn’t been focused on very much. The set looks really cool in this movie from what I’ve seen in the previews, and so do the costumes. I am hoping to catch it Easter Weekend, what movies do you want to see?

Radio Rebel-A Movie Review

12 Feb

Debby Ryan

Sarena Parmar

Adam Dimarco

Merritt Patterson

Lain Belcher

Rowen Kahn

Mercedes de la Zerda

Summery-Shy student Tara, (Debby Ryan) can’t even write a word on a white board in front of her class or talk to anyone besides her best friend Audrey (Sarena Parmar.) This shy girl has an amazing secret though…she is the hit radio show host Radio Rebel! All the students at her school listen to the smooth talking podcast that Tara is secretly recording in her bedroom. The best part? No one knows who Rebel is! When her step-dad finds out that Tara is Rebel she even gets her own show on the radio station SLAM! But what happens when Tara’s friends start to get suspicious or when the school principal cancels prom because of Radio Rebel?

My Thoughts: Yesterday night my sister and I were looking for a movie to watch and we found this one on Netflix. It was pretty good and the plot was interesting. Barry and Larry were really weird, but funny. Cami Q and Audrey were really nice supporting characters, (didn’t you like Audrey’s “extended hyena?”) Tara was an okay main character and Debby Ryan’s acting was good, but she wasn’t memorable. The movie wasn’t very believable, but it was fun! I also think the end was kind of cheesy…I did like to hear Radio Rebel’s shows though. Stacy was your classic mean girl character, but I wish she was more likable. Overall it was an okay movie with good acting and I give it three out of five stars.

Have a good night everybody!

7 Days of Halloween Posts, (Return To Halloween Town-A Movie Review)

24 Oct

Halloween post #4:) Return to Halloween Town-A Movie Review.

Marnie Piper is a witch, who loves using her powers. So when she gets accepted into Witch University in Halloween town it’s no surprise much to the annoyance of her mother. When Marnie arrives she finds out two annoying things: she can only stay at the college if her brother stays too, and there’s NO magic allowed! But there is also some weird things going on, and Marnie’s sure the three mean girls, The Sinister Sisters, have something to do with it. Her brother’s acting weird and there’s a mysterious box that just landed in Marnie’s hands during class. Can Marnie figure out what’s happening along with the help of her friends Ethan and Aneesa?

My Thoughts: I watch this movie every Halloween, (I haven’t seen the other ones in like five years:)) It’s not my favorite disney movie but… it’s still okay. The other Halloween town movies are actually kind of scary the first time you see them, but this one is more comical. I give this movie three out of five stars.
